INTEGRATED PROGRAMMES

The DSA-Sec Exercise is an admission exercise to allow participating secondary schools to select some Primary Six students for admission to Secondary One. The selection will be based on their achievements and talents before the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results are released.

DSA-JC is an admission exercise to allow JCs/Institutions to select some Secondary 4/5 students for admission to JC1 based on their achievements and talents before the GCE ‘O’ Level examination results are released.

The Integrated Programmes (IP) provides an integrated secondary and JC education where secondary school pupils can proceed to JC without taking the GCE ‘O’ Level Examinations.

According to the Ministry of Education(MOE), from 2014 to 2016, schools with IP generally admitted an average of 35% of their Secondary One IP intake through the DSA-Sec Exercise.

Several JCs have teamed up with secondary schools while other Junior Colleges have started its own programmes for secondary education.

The 6-year IP leads to the ‘A’ Level examinations or other Diplomas.

VICTORIA JUNIOR COLLEGE

The six-year Victoria-Cedar Alliance Integrated Programme (VCA IP) is offered jointly with Cedar Girls’ Secondary School and Victoria Junior College.

HWA CHONG INSTITUTION

Hwa Chong Institution offers its IP jointly with Nanyang Girls’ High School and Hwa Chong Institution.(Secondary).

RAFFLES INSTITUTION (RI)

This premier school offers its IP together with its affliated schools, Raffles Girls Schoo at the Anderson Road and Raffles Institution (Secondary) at the same campus as RI.

EUNOIA JC

This brand new Junior College has tie-ups with Catholic High School, CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School and Singapore Chinese Girls’ School.

ANGLO CHINESE SCHOOL (INDEPENDENT)

Methodist Girls’ School’s will host its IP students in years 5 and 6 at ACS(I), which offers its own IB programme to its secondary school pupils. Anglo Chinese School (Independent)’s secondary campus is an all-boys school.

DUNMAN HIGH SCHOOL

The six-year IP programme will lead to the A level examinations.

NATIONAL JUNIOR COLLEGE

The six-year IP programme will lead to the A level examinations. The Junior High Programme uses a Grade Point Average system for its overall grading and promotion of students. The curriculum has been designed to leverage on Boarding.

RIVER VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL

The six-year IP programme will lead to the A level examinations.

The IP here is based on an inter-disciplinary approach and students will graduate with a SJI IB Diploma Programme.

NUS HIGH SCHOOL

Students are provided with a broad-based curriculum and graduate with the NUS High School Diploma, that is recognised by both local and overseas universities.

Students who wish to apply for a JC should do the homework on admission openings early and attend open house events to learn more. The Direct School Admission exercise is conducted at primary 6, secondary 2 and secondary 4. Some schools have other entrance examinations that may include written examinations and other assessment criteria.
